David's interest in technology extends back to his teen years with science fairs and amateur radio. He is fascinated with hardware, but his real interest is how people use technology. David's goal in providing technological solutions has always been to listen to the end users.

  David A. Wimsett has been in the technology business for over three decades. Much of that time was spent in California 's Silicon Valley . He has owned and run his own consulting firm since 1983. In that time, David has seen dramatic changes in all aspects of technology and how it affects the lives of people.

He is the President and CEO of Avidaid Inc. www.avidaid.ca, a unique firm offering a wide range of business and software consulting solutions including database design, custom desktop & web applications, data mining, technical writing, project management, Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001:2000, articles, web content, handbooks, reports, and graphic design.

He is a member of the Professional Writers Association of Canada (www.pwac.ca), an organization of independent Canadian periodical and business writers.

David's interest in technology extends back to his teen years with science fairs and amateur radio. He is fascinated with hardware, but his real interest is how people use technology. David's goal in providing technological solutions has always been to listen to the end users.

Over the years, he has pursued callings outside the technological sphere. He writes fiction, poetry, and music. He is a professional photographer as well as an actor, singer and musician who has appeared with dinner theatre and repertory companies in such roles as Pseudolus in A Funny thing Happened n the Way to the Forum , Petruchio in Taming of the Shrew , Teddy Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace , and The Governor in Man of La Mancha . He also plays trumpet in musical reviews.

He is a single father who raised his son, Ronald, from the age of 6.

David was born in 1954 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank, California, directly between NBC and Walt Disney Studios. He now lives and works in Halifax , Nova Scotia on the eastern shore of Canada.
